My 200th Post! February 29, 2008

This is the 200th post of Photo Mommy (also known as All the Days of My Life and My life…as it Unfolds)!

It’s also leap day…how cool is that?

To “celebrate” the occasion  I decided to do a “Then and Now” post.

With the kids, at least, because they have changed the most.

These are the photos from my first post, plus photos from now.

My how they’ve changed!

Aaron:

In March, 2006, Aaron was 7 years old, and in first grade.

February, 2008, Aaron is 9 and in third grade!

Taylor:

In March, 2006, Taylor was 2.5, and had just started preschool.

February, 2008, Taylor is 4.5 and is continuing with preschool.

Emma:

In March, 2006, Emma was 6 months old.

February, 2008, Emma is almost 2.5 and wishes she could go to school…she told me so this morning.

I can’t believe how fast they’re growing up! 

I am so glad that I have this blog as a record of their childhood.  I already enjoy looking back at the beginning and reading some of the stories that I have forgotten.

I can’t hardly wait for #300!

Bad Photo Day February 28, 2008

Missy at Bees and Boo Boos has declared today (and maybe every Thursday?) to be “Bad Photo Day”.

I dug into my archives for most of these.  I need to stop deleting so many of my bad pics, to save for days like today.  Although, as many photos as I take, it really wasn’t hard to get some bad ones…

I’m surprised my kids got any presents from Santa after our encounter with him. Poor Santa.

My brother, who is apparently transparent, can also be in 2 places at once. Cool!

Another close encounter. This time with Taylor. Wow.

Ok. I know what this looks like. Yes, that is me. I am not gagging because of his finger. I was sick. And coughing. Hence the gagging. That was a “strategically placed” finger. Hubby really knows how to take ‘em.

This was so much fun!

Photos From the New Camera February 25, 2008

For the past 2 days I have been snapping photo upon photo trying to learn the ins and outs of my new best friend camera.

I am in love.

Seriously.

Granted, the only photos I’ve taken have been of Doug, the kids, and the dog.  I haven’t ventured out for a nature session yet.

But I will.  Right now it’s cold, grey and drab outside.  I’m sooo itching for some warm weather!

Yes, that is a photo of the moon. I only wish I could have had this camera during the lunar eclipse last week. I could have had some great shots!

This and That February 24, 2008

Sigh.

With Doug on the mend from the sickness that has plauged our family for the last two weeks, I was hoping to spend this weekend wihout any sickies.  That however, was not meant to be.  Emma is sick again, for the 2nd time in two weeks. 

Perfect.

This time it is much worse.  Vomiting, fever approaching 102…so much fun I have to tell you.  I just hope that it doesn’t circulate through the whole family again.  

I’m keeping my fingers crossed.

On another note, a dream of mine came true yesterday.  I got a new camera.  Not just any ol’ camera, either.  I got a Canon Rebel XTi.

Whew…I’m one spoiled mama!

But I also realize that this is like my Mother’s day, anniversary, Sweetest day, birthday and Christmas presents for the year. I don’t care.

This camera is so cool!

Other than this, there’s not much going on.  The kids don’t have school tomorrow so we’ll just be hanging out for the next couple of days.  That’s ok, it gives me plenty of time to get to know my new camera.

This welcome sign has been in my family forever. It hung in my grandparent’s house for years. After they passed away, the sign was passed on to me. I proudly display it in my home. It is a small piece of my childhood and I will treasure it always.

My Little Helper February 22, 2008

Today while I was doing the dishes, (ugh) Taylor decided that she wanted to play in my dishwater.  Normally, I don’t let her do this, but today she seemed really adament about it, so I pulled up her sleeves, and let her have at it.

My next move, of course, was to grab my camera…

As you can see, she had a blast.  It’s fun to watch her take an interest in different things like this.  After a while, though, I did have to pull her away, and she wasn’t very happy with me.  Oh, well, it was fun while it lasted!
