I’m Baaaack! March 31, 2008

*Sigh*

Oh, Internet, how I have missed thee…

It has been five days since I have experienced the simple things you offer.

Blogging, email, and my coveted weather channel homepage.

I swear, I’ll never let my children crash my computer again.

Aahhh…it’s good to be back.

Wow.  I think I may have an internet addiiction.

Okay, it wasn’t that bad.

I really did miss my daily blog reading.

I only missed writing a little.

I did end up ditching the NaBloPoMo challenge.

And I was so close.

When it came right down to it, I just didn’t feel like hauling my kids here, there and everywhere just so I could blog.

I might try again in April.

Or May.

We’ll see what happens.

I’m not totally sure what my computer situation will be.

Right now, I’m on my old computer.

It’s ancient and slow, but at least I can get online.

It might be awhile before my other computer is fixed.

It’s gonna be a pricey fix and that’s just not in the budget right now.

So, we’re making do with what we have.

But, it’s all good!

Oops! March 26, 2008

Yesterday afternoon, Taylor crashed my computer. 

Nice!

I was doing a second post for Life, Unscripted when Taylor unplugged the computer.

No big deal, right?

While the computer was re-booting, she unplugged it again, causing Windows to crash.

Now I am sans computer. (I’m using my mom’s right now).

Can you say withdrawl?

It may be awhile before I’m fully back online.

But I will complete my NaBloPoMo challenge.

Oh yes, I will.

I only have 6 posts left (including today).

I will not fail!

Confronted March 25, 2008

The other shoe has fallen.

I took a big chance when I wrote A Moment of Serious. 

I was sure it wouldn’t be read by the person I was writing about.

I was wrong.

Last night I was confronted about my writing and some other things.

I defended myself saying that “it’s my blog, I can write what I please”.

It got worse from there.

Tempers were flaring, emotions were running high and a lot of thing were said. 

I will not divulge any of it. 

I’ll just state that the entire episode was. not. pretty.

It kind of reminds me of something you’d see on Cops.

I know, I know…that’s bad. 

And I’m not trying to make light of the subject…it just helps me deal a little better, mkay?

I can’t (and won’t) speak for anyone else involved, but I will say that I acted totally out of character, and actually am quite ashamed of some of the things that I said.

I am normally a pretty calm and levelheaded person (at least I think so).

But something came over me last night.

Pride?

Self preservation?

Stubborness?

Bitchiness?

Rage?

It was probably a little bit of everything.

I was “transformed” into a mere shadow of my true self, a side of me that doesn’t see the light of day very often, a side that, more often than not, gets me into trouble.

The whole debacle left me feeling sick to my stomach and ridden with guilt. 

But, I have to say that I think that I am more upset with the way that I acted more than anything else.

Let me tell you, for the sake of everyone involved, I really wish things would have turned out differently.

That’s all I have to say about that.

Easter, the Aftermath March 24, 2008

Another Easter has come and gone.

My kids were spoiled, as usual.

That darn Easter Bunny does not know when to quit! 

We had a wonderful day full of presents, candy, family and lots of fun.

I am not originally from a big family, so when we get together with Doug’s family, I’m just in awe at how big these holiday get-togethers can get. 

There were 31 people at dinner yesterday. 

WOW.

Dinner was great, and it was really fun to catch up with family we don’t get to see too often.

The kiddos had a great time, too. 

There were lots of kids to play with…9 altogether (including my 3) ranging in age from 2-13.

The only bad part of the day was when Emma took a tumble off a bed onto a folding table tray…she’s got a couple of boo boos, but she’s recovering quickly.

All in all, a great weekend/holiday was had by all.

Of course it went by way too fast, but the good times usually do.

It’s My Blogoversary…and Spring! March 20, 2008

Today, Photo Mommy turns 2! 

Two years and 220 posts.

When I started this blog, I had no idea what it would develop into.  It has become a way to keep in touch with old friends, and a great way to make new friends.  It is a chronicle of my life; my children’s lives.  The good, the bad, and the ugly.  It has been a learning tool for me…so much as improved since day one, especially my writing.

This is a great experience for me that I would like to keep going as long as possible.

Here’s to 2 years and many more to come…

Today is also the first day of Spring!

Woot!

This is the day I’ve been waiting for since the first day of winter!

My excitement is short-lived, I have to admit.  Although today is beautiful and sunny, albeit a tad chilly, I found out this morning that by early Saturday we could have 4 inches or more of new snow.

Come on now!  We just got rid of it all!  Including the 5 foot high x 7 foot long snow pile at the end of my driveway.

Why am I still in Michigan?

Along with the arrival of spring, comes the dreaded spring cleaning.

Fortunately, since we just moved in, I don’t have a ton to do.

But I am trying to get things a little more organized…when we moved in it was like a tornado of activity…stuff got put anywhere it would fit.

But you gotta give us credit…it was 10 days before Christmas…

So that’s what I’m up to…
