Today, Aaron is starting the 4th grade. He was more excited than he let on. He couldn’t wait to leave this morning!
He looks so grown up this year! He’s already 5 foot tall (and only 9!). I have a feeling it won’t be too much longer before he’s taller than me. (I give him 2-2.5 years…).
Taylor had no problem getting back into her school routine. Granted, it’s been less than 2 weeks since she went last, but it’s not uncommon for autistic children to get so set into their routines, that any major changes result in big time melt downs. We are very fortunate that Taylor is very easy going, which makes transitions like this very simple.
She was so excited when she saw the bus that she went trucking down the driveway without even holding my hand. Then she got onto the bus all by herself. Sniff. My little girl is growing up!
Things are pretty quiet around here for now. My child load has been cut in half now that school has begun. (Miss J is in 1st grade this year.) I have Emma, Baby Kenedi and Miss K in the morning. Taylor gets home by noon. Kenedi is usually picked up by 2:30 (if not before), and Aaron and Miss J won’t be here until 3:30. Let me tell you, that is going to make my life so much easier!
