A Taste of Summer

This past weekend was the best we’ve had in about 6 months.  We welcomed the warm air and sunshine with open arms.

We worked in our (soon to be) garden, went to the park, played T-ball, planted strawberries and roses, ate outdoors, smiled, laughed and loved.

Reality set in quickly today as we returned to our regular routines of school, work and housecleaning.

Now that I’ve had a taste of summer, I want more.

It’s My Blogoversary…and Spring!

Today, Photo Mommy turns 2!

Two years and 220 posts.

When I started this blog, I had no idea what it would develop into.  It has become a way to keep in touch with old friends, and a great way to make new friends.  It is a chronicle of my life; my children’s lives.  The good, the bad, and the ugly.  It has been a learning tool for me…so much as improved since day one, especially my writing.

This is a great experience for me that I would like to keep going as long as possible.

Here’s to 2 years and many more to come…

Today is also the first day of Spring!

This is the day I’ve been waiting for since the first day of winter!

My excitement is short-lived, I have to admit.  Although today is beautiful and sunny, albeit a tad chilly, I found out this morning that by early Saturday we could have 4 inches or more of new snow.

Come on now!  We just got rid of it all!  Including the 5 foot high x 7 foot long snow pile at the end of my driveway.

Why am I still in Michigan?

Along with the arrival of spring, comes the dreaded spring cleaning.

Fortunately, since we just moved in, I don’t have a ton to do.

But I am trying to get things a little more organized…when we moved in it was like a tornado of activity…stuff got put anywhere it would fit.

But you gotta give us credit…it was 10 days before Christmas…

So that’s what I’m up to…

What about you?

Haiku Friday- My Kids Need some Fresh Air

the snow is melting
the kids want to play outside
when will spring be here?

Good question.

By my calendar, spring arrives 6 days from now. {yay}

But I think it’s going to be a while before we get some really warm weather. {boo}

We hit 52 yesterday.

Should be about the same today.

Am I complaining?

Heck, no!

But this is Michigan, and I know better than to be overly excited about a couple of 50+ degree days.

My kids are really anxious to play outdoors.

Who can blame them?

We’ve been out a little, but it’s still kind of cool for the little ones.

Plus, it’s muddy. Everywhere.

No joke.

I need to get some outdoor shots of my kiddos.

I have plenty of indoor ones.

Plenty may be an understatement.

To put it in perspective, I’ve had my new camera for 20 days.

I’ve taken over 1100 photos.

Again, no joke.

Not that I’ve kept them all.

There’s been a lot of deleted “bad photos”.

I’m glad it’s Friday.

It’s been a long week.

Some new kid pics:
